Tigers 5-8yrs: This class is for the younger kids as a preparation for the full CKD program. Attendance is only 1 day a week and follows a modified version of the CKD syllabus.
Belt system for all Tiger classes are mostly based on attendance rather than a test. Stuends achieve a new white belt with coloured stripe evey 16 classes at a minimum (attitude, knowledge, and skill level are also taken into account).
CKD Kids 8-15yrs All Levels: Designed especially for this age group these classes are 45min long and suitable for the beginner and all ranks up to Black Belt. Adults who have children training as well are more than welcome to participate in this class, but it is recommended they do at least 1 Adult class a week as well.
CKD Kids Purple Belt and Above: More advanced class focused on children who have attained Purple Belt or higher. This is an optional class to attend once a week instead of the normal class. This class will focuse on higher level requirements to help get students prepared for their Black Belt Grading. It is also for existing Black Belts to work on their more advanced syllabus and techniques.
While it is not compulsary for those eligible to attend one of these classes a week, it will benefit them and may get them to their Black Belt grading in a more timely fashine and will overall make them a better Black Belt candidate.
Therefore it is encoursaged that all 8-15 year olds attend one normal 4:15pm class, and one Purple Belt and above class per week.
CKD Adults Only All Levels Any of these classes are fine for an Adult beginner to start in, please let us know before you come for your first time. We can then organise an Instructor to give you some one on one. All other belt levels also attend this class. Teens are invited into this class where deemed appropriate.
CKD STUDENTS Class attendance is required at least two times a week in order to learn and develop skills properly. Your attendance is recorded for belt testing; you will need a minimum of 16 classes in most cases and all your stripes to test for the next belt rank. However minimum attendance does NOT guarantee you will be invited to the next available belt test. Your knowledge and skill level for your age and rank must also be at the appropriate level.
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ALL STUDENTS
Make up Classes: If for whatever reason you cannot attend your scheduled classes you are welcome to choose any one of the other classes of your program. If you are going to be away for longer than a week please let your Instructor know.
Private 1 on 1 training sessions: Available for all students, 30 minutes sessions (arrive 10 minutes early to do your own stretching) with focus on improving techniques as well as any other areas that student may need help with. Times available during the day/evenings and weekends, bookings are essential.
These sessions can be used as a replacement for one of your weekly classes, or in addition to attending your 2 classes a week. Please enquire if you wish to know more about these sessions.
